About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate MERN Stack Mentor to guide aspiring developers through hands-on learning and project-based experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js) and a desire to help others succeed by mentoring and sharing real-world knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide mentorship: Guide students in learning the MERN stack and ensure they understand key concepts like database design, server-side development, and front-end frameworks.
Project guidance: Assist students in building projects using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
Code reviews: Review student code, provide constructive feedback, and help them improve coding best practices.
Troubleshooting and Debugging: Assist students in identifying issues in their code and help them learn debugging techniques.
Teaching best practices: Teach students coding best practices, including version control (Git), deployment strategies, and agile methodologies.
Career advice: Provide guidance on job search strategies, technical interviews, and resume building related to MERN stack roles.
Hands-on sessions: Conduct workshops, live coding sessions, and practical assignments to ensure students gain real-world experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in MERN Stack: Strong experience in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js development.
Experience with DevOps tools: Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.), Docker, CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
Teaching/mentoring experience: Prior experience in teaching or mentoring students, preferably in a boo camp or educational setting.
Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple and clear manner.
Problem-solving: Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Soft skills: Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
1+ years of professional experience as a MERN stack developer.
Experience working in an agile development environment.
Ability to commit time to mentor and respond to student queries in a timely manner.
Bonus:
Experience with GraphQL, TypeScript, or Next.js.
Experience working with remote teams or in a distributed environment.
